Shasta

Hello everyone. It's been a long time. Let's see if I can remember how this is done. So much has happened since I last posted. I adopted a new little puppy, although that was a year ago, so she's not so little anymore. Her name is Shasta, she's a black lab, and a total little snuggle muffin. She loves Dozer, and they get along well. He's very patient with her, to the point of being too much so. I found this out after we made an emergency trip to the vet to find out he had about 20-30 puncture holes in each ear from his new little friend. Poor thing! I'd never heard of that happening, but the vet says its common for a very patient and loving older dog to put up with the ear chewing from puppies. We watched extra close after that, and Dozer has had no more issues from that. Isn't there a song called, Love Hurts, or something like that? Anyway, she fits into our little family quite well, and has been a source of much love and comfort.
So, just this quick little post for now. Hope everyone is doing well.
Lori

  2. Hi Lori !!!! SO glad to see you...hope life is rearranging itself for you and getting a new pup is always a good start!

We had a big lab named Seamus when we got the little Jack Russell Terrorist. and the baby chewed his bottom jaw an lip like that. lol It freaked me out when we realized the puppy was doing it, and he would just sit there and let her. She fell asleep every night all snuggled up to him.

    I've missed you. xoxoxoxox

    1. Thank you! Yes, life has rearranged and sort of wiggled and squirmed, but we are making our way slowly but surely. I have much to be thankful for, first and foremost my children and immediate support system around me. Even during the tough times, life can be so beautiful, and I try to remember to see the beauty in each day. Sometimes I am more successful than others, but always seem to be moving forward.

    1. Yes, I am! Last year I didn't do much at all, but this year I hope will be different. Oh, although one thing that I did do was to try bidwell casabas. I saved seeds and will be using them this year. They are huge! And tasty. I have some frozen, and pull them out every few nights for something different.
Any wild and wacky plans on your part?

    2. You bet that she is. We (her loving sister helping) have already scooped two loads of horse manure from my daughter's riding instructor's horses. They keep churning it out and Lori keeps shoveling it on her garden. Lets just hope that it starts rain here or we all are going to be watering our gardens. Linda Perkins

  6. Hope your garden is a success. I am praying for rain (and snow). I want to expand my garden. (I only managed tomatoes last year). I want to ski. Maybe I will take a sewing project on my ski trip this year.

Missed you at our quilting retreat, but I know that the ebbs and flows of your life needed you at home this year. Jerilyn
