The Geekdom

I know we live outside of a small town, and we have animals, and cut our own firewood, and everything else that goes along with that. But in all reality, my guys are geeks. My family lives for the computer, and the information it gives us. We love fast internet searches for a quirky recipe, or the odd tidbit of information. To say nothing about my hubby actually making a living with his knowledge using a computer. Of course, my youngest son is no different. No, he doesn't make a living using a computer, although at 19, that would be nice! What I'm saying is, David is a total geek. To prove my point? I just got a text from him, (he's at Walmart.) "Holy crap! I just found a 16g flash drive!" Ahhh, I can see it now, the newest, biggest, most beautiful flash drive, as a centerfold in PC magazine!

  1. You have to know that I get it...Mitch makes his living at/with/for computers and their end users..and geekdom does run in this family.

    An example?

I am reading a book on my Iphone... :-)

  2. Becca: yeah, I pretty much figured you'd get this one, being married to who you're married to. ;) However, we have no iphone here. A couple razors, and a blackberry. Does that count?? Hey, wait, reading a book on your phone??? How's that work?? ACK! Maybe I'm totally out of the loop!!

  3. Oh heck this is easy...

go to www.amazon.com and download the app for reading your books on the computer...kindle for the computer, and you can buy and download books right to your computer. They have lots of classics that are free, and lots that are really cheap, say a $1.00 a book. There is this blog that I read called http://www.thefrugalereader.com/, and they have lots of free, or lower cost books to choose from.

    I know, I am so bad... :-)

  4. I think my problem is I don't know what an Iphone is. I thought it was a phone, but then you say you download books for your computer. Perhaps I'm not geeky/nerdly enough. Later, maybe?? For now, I'm off to the kitchen. Hate to waste this beautiful rainy day not cooking!!

  5. My husband is EXACTLY the same. Although he mostly works with security cameras and systems, in his past time he is all about geek and computers!!! And I love him for that...Geeks are the cutest.
